Hand Building Mug Pottery Class

SESSION ONE: Friday 13th 3-5pm

SESSION TWO: Friday 20th 3 -5pm

 

This is a two-part healing pottery class that teaches students not only hand building pottery skills, but how to use the acquired artistic knowledge to better their life. Students will end the course having created a beautiful and one of a kind hand built mug from ceramic stoneware. In the first session, students will be directed through the construction of their vessel using the pinch pot technique and take time to sketch ideas of their overall vision for their piece. After the first class, the pieces will be fired at the Bug Ceramics studio kiln to around 1500 F. The pieces are now considered bisque ware and are ready for glaze. In the second session, students will paint their pieces with glaze, learning several surface decoration techniques and being provided with a range of unique glazes. The finished pieces will be ready to pick up at the gallery starting October 24th or they can be shipped for an additional charge.

Hand Building Ceramic Jewelry Class

SESSION ONE: Saturday, October 21st 1-2 pm

SESSION TWO: Saturday, October 28th 1-2 pm

 

This is a two-part handbuilding pottery class that teaches students hand building pottery and jewelry making skills. Students will end the course having created a beautiful and one of a kind earring and necklace set from ceramic stoneware. In the first session, students will be directed through the creation of their ceramic pendants and take time to sketch ideas of their overall vision for their piece. They will glaze their pieces with a range of color choices. After the first class, the pieces will be fired at the Bug Ceramics studio kiln to over 2000 F. The pieces are now ready to be contructed. In the second session, students will contruct their pieces, create jewelry backing cards and take their pieces home.
