Here’s the entire process of making my new clay dyed bandanas. The cotton bandanas are dyed in clay using soy milk as a binder, helping the color stick to the fabric. The bandanas are then printed with a linoleum fish. This process is called linocut printing. I start with a linoleum block which I always get from @theseamshoppe one of the only places in town to carry them. I draw a design on this block with a pen and then I carve using sharp tools. I ink and press the stamp to the fabric.
I LOVE the natural the dye meets stone wash result of these bandanas. I of course had to keep one for myself.
